Big Rock Show
I have an idea for a post about coping with and embracing the suffering we all go through, but I had to go out tonight. And I'm not sure the idea is fully developed anyway, so I'll work on it tomorrow.
Tonight I went to see a band (who is a client of mine) called Fear Factory. I've worked with them on and off for over 10 years. It's funny how the same people are still around, but now we are all talking about our kids.
I ran into a guy who I hadn't seen in 8 years. He's a sound engineer (one of the best I think), and the last time I saw him we where both working on the tour from Hell - everyone in the band hated each other, the band was firing their management, crew members where skipping town with cash, hotel rooms where getting trashed (that stopped being cool a long, long time ago), and a whole slew of other random silliness.
Me: Hey Dude, how have you been?
Him: Oh Sh*t! What are you doing here?
Me: Doing some stuff with Fear Factory.
Him: You still working in this BS business?
Me: Yeah but so are you.
Him: Fair enough.
Me: Have you talked to any one from (the tour from Hell) lately?
Him: No way.
Me: Me either.
Him: So what else is going on?
Me: Had a kid, here check out the pictures.
Him: Cool, I had heard about that, let's see em....and dude, why are your legs shaved?
I'll be back on topic tomorrow.

I've always tried to distance myself from the past, stay in the present. It can be quite jarring to be reminded by someone or something about the person you once were, maybe not so long ago.
Also, I thought Fear Factory was something you made up, a la Spinal Tap. Turn it up to eleven!
I remember Fear Factory ,,,
At least you were not wearing your black knee high socks!
If this is any help/inspiration for your pain and suffering post...

I've been through a lot in my short 29 years...
Didn't know if you were looking at emotional strife, physical strife or all of the above!
Have a great day!
Some questions have no answers. Leg shaving falls into that catagory...
Running into the past- creepy and cool all at once hu?
Running into things from the past can be really good. Makes you remember good things or makes you realise how glad you are that they are in the past.
As for him realising your legs were shaved......
Your welcome!
the shaved legs question is the defining moment. If you stuttered on that one, you're gone. otherwise all good!
Was Anvil the opening band?
Him: "...and dude, why are your legs shaved?"
Me: Coffee spew!!!!!
Hilarious Patrick!
If I hadn't seen you in 10 years, I'm sure I'd ask the same question.
And Fear Factory huh? I'm impressed. Never was into the heavy metal stuff - I was a little too old. Too fragile for the mosh pit. I was more an acid rock and early punk fan.
