Good Luck To Some Pals

A couple good friends of The Road are racing this weekend so I just wanted to wish them luck.

First up is Kovas Palubinskas from Midwest Multisport Life.  He is doing the Red Bull Trail Daze in Willow Springs, IL.

Regular readers of his blog have probably noticed that Kovas has picked up quite a passion for trail running.  And though he's never out and out said it to me, I'd guess it's his main focus at the moment.  So it's cool that what looks to be like a great event is so close to home.  The million dollar question is did he pick the "Hard but Short" route, the "Medium but Tricky" route, or the "Easy but Long" route?  That answer and so much more will be revealed by Monday on his blog.

Run strong, Kovas...

Second up is Big Clyde from the Clydesdale Project.  Clyde and his 11 year old son Samson are doing the 40 mile route of the Tour de Tucson cycling race in Tucson AZ.  Apparently there is a guy named Crazy Jim on their team too.  If I lived in Arizona I'd want to be right there with them because this sounds like a cool race.

BC and Samson have been training hard so I am expecting a strong effort.  When I was a kid, I liked my sports hero's in pairs like Terry Bradshaw and Lynn Swann or Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.  These days it's pairs like Mark Cavendish and Mark Renshaw or Samson and Big Clyde.

BC, I hope you guys have a good race both as cycling enthusiasts and father and son.  Allez!!

Delayed wishes of luck and recovery are still good ones right?
