Worst. Day. Ever. (That ended really good)

I'm going to steal borrow a few blog formatting tricks from my main lady EMZ tonight.

Today was a TOUGH DAY.  There are a few things on the go that are wreaking havoc to my idyllic life of work, training, hugs with the FAMILY, blogging and working on EAP.  And the worst part is that everything is mostly out of my control.  I'm not really used to that.

I KNEW is was going to be a tough day, before the day even started - when I woke up at 6AM to go ride, the little motivation I had was lost when I saw it was a little windier than normal.

Oh, yeah - and my I-Phone is now Jacked.  It was a FREAKIN' bad day.

But then Ian and I went to his first T-Ball Practice.  And the coach asked me to run the ground ball fielding station.  I have not put bat to ball in 20 years.  But I sorta/kinda got it back quick enough and put 3 groups of 3 kids through practice.  It was a blast.

"Let's see your stance!"

"Glove on the ground!"

"Get after that ball!"

"Fantastic Job!"

And of course the occasional "Hey (every kid at one point), you still with us?"

Good times...

I LOVED helping coach my son's soccer team...and yeah, that can be a lot like herding cats. Sorry about your phone. SUCKS. Hope it's fixable and soon.

Bravo with writing in EMZ form/style! She will be so proud I'm sure. I'm impressed. Glad your day ended on a good note.

Perspective is a powerful thing isn't it?

I got really confused and thought that was Emz writing but then it wasn't her - I'm too tired for games like this!

Turned out to be a great day.

Did you have the 'glove is on the wrong hand conversations?'

And the 'Hey are you still with us' is one of my favorites especially when the kids runs out to the outfield for no apparent reason.

Nothing like a little American pastime to revive the old spirits. Green grass, crack of the bat...

Sounds like a heartwarming way to end the day.

Nice to hear you can see the good in a bad day...it isn't always easy to do.

I am so glad that your day turned around! I wish I could say the same about mine!

I used to coach basketball with my hubby. That was fun but quite the challenge!

I coach my kids also...soccer, tball, basketball...mostly basketball though cuz really i dont know anything about the first 2...but it is hilarious...the "you still with us" part is not occasional it is every practice and at least 14 times per kid!!! ha ha!

Aww...what a great story! Isn't it amazing how we can be having the worst day ever, then something our kiddos do/say or some interaction we have with them just totally changes things around!? I love it!

This brings be back to my days of coaching. Running camps where I was part cheerleader, part instructor. Glad your day ended on a high note!!

A real EMZ post would have had more than just crazy colorful fonts.

You
forgot
to
write
vertically

Then.you.didn't.use.alot.of.choppy sentences.

You'll get 'em next time Partrick.

When things suck, turn to baseball. That has seemed to keep this country running for decades (-:

The hardest part is teaching them how to pinch their chew into a nice little ball and not swallow their spit.

Good luck this weekend!

Gotta love kids sports to put you in a good mood! I coach my 6 year old's soccer team in Fall and Spring and it is so fun (and frustrating and....but all in all it is fun watching the kids have fun being active)

Playing sports with kids ALWAYS makes things better :D
