How did you get into triathlon?: Needed more than the occasional 5K, plus I liked the shorts.

Strengths: Running is probably my least worst.

Most rewarding aspect triathlon: I have come to love training and wonder why it took so long to figure this out.

What is my ultimate sporting goal: To keep this going as long as I can. Get a few Olympic distances under my belt, get back into mountaineering again, Marathon some day?

Short term goal: Xterra So Cal Trail Running series this winter.

Hobbies / Interests: Mountaineering, reading, music, business (with "music" and "business" generally co-existing in my world), home music recording in the winter season.

Current favorite ride: Sunset Beach to Laguna Beach on PCH.

Current favorite run: Bolsa Chica Wetlands trails in Huntington Beach.

Favorite foods: Mexican, Japanese, & Italian. Gatorade G2 as well.

Music: It's really not this specific (as in this or nothing), but I like guitar based melodic stuff with minor key and/or angular sounding riffs, effected vocals, and layered with plenty of old school synth sounds. You can throw as much of the mix as you can into a filter if you want, especially the drums. Examples: The Doves, The Life & Times. There is plenty more outside of this I like too.

Movies: The Departed, Goodfellas, Tropic Thunder.

What I was doing 20 years ago?: Playing in a band, touring the US and Europe, being rejected by every major record label on the planet.

What I was doing 10 years ago?: Getting fat & bald.
