Even though it rained today, Chris Korn still managed to run 9.83 miles. For the first time ever (says he, and in the rain not the distance).
Though I'm staying out of it, apparently Ginny, Jamoosh, Kovas, Miss Zippy, Jill and Marcia owe Chris an apology. I guess they didn't think he could do it.
I knew he could. Because even though it's normally sunny and 60 degrees at this time of year, we here in California are not pansies no matter what people from Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi, Colorado and Texas say.
I ran 9.82 miles today. I then had to walk over a mile home. But it was Chris's day and I didn't want to take anything away from that, so I walked home with pride. Plus, I was tired.

| Mission San Juan Capistrano |
I originally wanted to write a post about something that happened on Monday when we where walking around the grounds of Mission San Juan Capistrano, but there's really not enough to the story to make for a whole entry. So let's just say that it involves me, an old chapel and a crazy lady with a digital camera who made me look through the view-finder not once, not twice, but three times to see "the spirits". Unfortunately, I didn't see anything. But I love this woman. And I went back a few minutes later with Mary's camera to have another look. Still nothing.
I might have to watch all the episodes of "Ghost Hunters" Mary has on the DVR to get some ghost finding tips, track down my new friend and go back better prepared.

Well color me impressed, the Californians are running in the rain these days. There is no end to the admiration I hold for the fortitude of the lotus-eaters braving those nasty elements. Huzzah, well done my friends!
I now return, chastened, to my snow-covered lair where my paleo fitness training awaits.
I haven't heard 'Ghost Hunters' in forever. Karen used to watch that all the time. Before you go back get yourself on of those heat detectors as that always seemed to be the way they figured out if a ghost actually existed.

Supposedly there are some ghosts at a hotel near me. You can come test your talents here in Colorado once you have honed your skills!

But imagine if you were able to see the spirits - but only through her camera! Ha!
Oh man, does Chris know how to milk this rain thing or what!?!? It's not that we didn't think he could do it, it's just that we thought he could - and should! And he did, finally :).

I'll agree with Jill. I'll be sure to send the "gold star" to Chris as soon as I can. That mission looks cool.

Patrick, as you know, I couldn't have done it without you. Had I not seen your inspiring run in the rain last week, I wouldn't have known that us Californians could do it and not melt. Thanks for the shout out.

Chris really is getting his 15 minutes! But that's ok, he's a good guy and now, not quite so wimpy. What will we rib him on now?
I wouldn't mind running in the rain; it would mean running in warmer temperatures. Good job, Chris, getting the miles finished.

Way to represent! We have had some rainy, windy weather in the central valley too and I have made my way out on a few occasions...although I don't think I could hang with the winter wonderland Kovas calls home.
