November in Review & A Reunion.

So here is my training volume for November:

Bike:20h 33m 39s  - 358.13 Mi
Run:11h 49m 05s  - 84.89 Mi
Swim:7h 05m  - 12450 Yd

Dana Point Turkey Trot
That's about 39 hours for the month.  It's down from October, but then again I've been trying to take it easy.  That said, I didn't do a very good job with that - my decrease in volume is entirely down to being sick for a few days mid month.  Plus I think my swimming volume is down too far.  And though the quality of my swim workouts has increased (I KNOW that I always say this, but this time it's really true), I simply need to be good about doing more of them.  I reckon I should be at around 18-20,000 yards/month.

Unfortunately, one area where I didn't have a decrease in volume was with my weight.  I got a look at the race photos from last week's Dana Point Turkey Trot and I must say I am looking a little more bloated than usual.  The scale says 3 pounds up, but this picture makes it look worse.  Great.

Specialized Transition
But onward and upward, right?  Today I rode my tri-bike for the first time in over a month.  I hadn't intended on neglecting it, but between some shop time and a lot of group riding, I never had the opportunity to ride it.

Today I took it out for a little over an hour at lunch time.  The conditions where perfect - sunny, crisp but not cold and very little wind.  We have not had a day like this for a couple weeks.  I did 21 miles out and back on the Coast Highway.  It was a great ride and I was reminded once again how fun a tri-bike is to ride.  And I can't keep this bike out of rotation for this long a long period again, because I definitely felt some strain on my neck and shoulders that was no doubt caused by a lack of recent use.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

A bit of NZ smackdown! The photo is more disturbing because your boxer briefs are hanging way out - what's up with that?

Are those my arm warmers by the way?

I love the look of the Specialized Transition - sexy bike. I wish it fit me.

I've heard people in the fashion photography business say photographs add weight to models. Not sure if that's true, but I choose to believe this.

Well, one good thing about the Turkey Trot picture, it looks like you are ahead of lots of runners.

I'm jealous of your weather. My numbers aren't anywhere near yours, but I've been able to get out a decent amount to run. Between the early dark and the temps in the 20's though, my bike hasn't seen use in a month.
